Tweet or Twit?
At 11 pm last week, Twitter shut down for some “scheduled maintenance”, to the alarm of some 100 million tweeters who were anxious to update their social media networks. Among these anxious tweeters was yours truly. Faced with an annoying page featuring a puzzling montage between a cartoon caterpillar and an ice-cream cone did nothing to calm my twittery nerves. And the puzzling word-bubbles coming from said ice-cream cone only added to my unease. Needless to say, I fell into a restless sleep that night, mindlessly mumbling the witty 140 allotted characters I had come up with until I dozed off.
Looking back on this incident today, I realize how attached to Twitter I’ve become over the past year. Already a Facebook and blogging devotee, I am now a full-blown social media addict. With my trusty new sidekick (read: iPhone 4) in hand, it seems like there’s nothing in my life that is privy to…well, me!
